Since 2018, Markus Abegglen has been responsible for the branch organisation of hostettler autotechnik ag, as well as the Tyre Service for two- and four-wheelers. Meanwhile, Marcel Stocker has headed up the automotive division. Over the past two decades, Abegglen and his team have had a significant impact on the hostettler group’s tyre business. Under his leadership, the division has grown from a small import business to become an efficient, full-range supplier of leading brands such as Nexen, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Continental and Michelin. The hostettler group also plays a central role in the motorcycle tyre segment, importing the Pirelli, Metzeler and IRC brands and distributing other renowned brands.
A key factor in this success was the establishment of a modern logistics infrastructure. Two large-capacity central warehouses for car and motorcycle tyres, as well as an express delivery service with multiple daily rounds to specialist retailers, now ensure maximum efficiency. Another milestone was introducing the Korean brand Nexen to the Swiss market in 2003. A further forward-looking development was the creation of a winter tyre for scooters in collaboration with the Thai manufacturer IRC – a first that attracted attention across Europe. The Tyre Service Division also recognised the market potential of complete car wheels early on, expanding its range to include high-quality alloy wheels from renowned premium manufacturers.
Marcel Stocker has been the sole managing director of hostettler autotechnik ag since 1 January 2026. He has also taken responsibility for the four-wheel tyre business. Meanwhile, the two-wheel tyre department was integrated into hostettler ag at the beginning of 2023, where it will continue to operate under the Motochic Division.
