The hostettler site in the industrial area of Sursee proved to be a great adventure park: for the little ones there was a Bike Pump Track and a mini motocross course. Numerous hostettler brands presented their wide range of products. At Yamaha, the entire model range was available for an extended test ride. Numerous food stands and the large party tent helped to quench thirst and hunger.
Pure adrenaline
The adrenaline rush was guaranteed thanks to the very diverse programme of activities. Motocross enthusiasts followed the FMX show of Mat Rebeaud and watched the trial show presented by the Circus Trial Crew. The programme included a series of jumps in all directions. Fans of Chris Böhm, for their part, were able to get excited about his BMX Flatland show. Action and breathtaking tricks were the order of the day. The members of the Flying Metal Crew were certainly in a spin on their MTBs as they spun around in the air. A great show, with guaranteed thrills!
A legendary racer in Sursee: Giacomo Agostini
Long queues accompanied the autograph sessions of the special guests, especially for Giacomo Agostini, considered to be the best motorcycle racer of all time. He has 15 world championship titles, 122 Grand Prix titles, 117 fastest race laps and ten Isle of Man TT wins to his name. No other rider has done so much. No wonder his fans with photos, books, helmets and other items waited so long to see him. They all wanted to have their memories signed with an original autograph of the best driver of all time.
Yamaha MotoGP and MXGP factory riders on the grid
Yamaha sent two of its team riders to Sursee simultaneously for autograph sessions. On Saturday it was the fans of Swiss pilot Jeremy Seewer from the Yamaha factory motocross team (MXGP) who got a precious signature. While on Sunday it was Yamaha factory MotoGP rider Franco Morbidelli who posed for selfies and signed autographs for his fan community. Morbidelli was World Champion in Moto2 and runner-up in MotoGP in 2020.
The iXS Family galvanised the crowd
Many members of the iXS Family mobilised the crowds. Tom Lüthi, Horst Saiger, Mat Rebeaud, Chris Böhm and many others answered the call from Sursee. Swiss GP 500 veteran Philippe Coulon was also among the special guests and thanked the Hostettler family, on behalf of the racing community, for their decades of support for motor sport. With some 8,500 visitors over the two days, the audience was numerous, and even Peter Hostettler was pleased with this: “It’s great what the hostettler staff have managed to put together. His assessment is brief but clear: Teamwork = Fun = Happyness! “I would like to thank everyone for their commitment and I am proud of what we have achieved during the two days in Sursee”, underlines Peter Hostettler.
