Attractions on motorcycles and bicycles
The hoschidays programme offered a wide range of attractions tailored to the hostettler group’s business areas. Highlights included the Drop and Roll Show, in which Danny MacAskill and his Scottish teammates performed impressive stunts and tricks on their bikes. Other spectacular moments came courtesy of the Freestyle Motocross (FMX) Show, where athletes performed whips, backflips and other feats on their motocross bikes.
Mat Rebeaud, a Swiss rider, was particularly impressive on his electric motocross bike, as was Julien Vanstippen, who performed a double backflip for the first time at hoschidays. Another debutant in Sursee was Jason Van Daele, who performed a backflip on a motocross sidecar. Thibaut Nogues also performed on the show stage for the first time at hoschidays, wowing the crowd with his spectacular stunts on a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R. The Circus Trial Tour by Belgian duo Samuele Zuccali and Manuel Copetti attracted attention with their acrobatic displays on trial bikes. The mountain bike show by the Swiss Flying Metal Crew and the BMX flatland show by Germany’s Chris Böhm also left the audience in awe. Five-year-old Emily also made her debut in Sursee with her drift show on an e-kart.
Autograph sessions and celebrity guests
There was plenty of action and exciting encounters with top international athletes, motorsport professionals and celebrity guests from the worlds of racing, skiing and cycling. Giacomo Agostini, widely regarded as the greatest motorcycle racer in history, attracted large crowds to the autograph sessions, as did Danny MacAskill, Mat Rebeaud, Chris Böhm and many others. Swiss ski racer Michelle Gisin and her Italian partner Luca De Aliprandini were delighted by the enthusiastic response they received. Little Emily also charmed the audience.
Product and brand worlds
As well as the shows and guests, hoschidays offered visitors a variety of attractions to discover, try out and enjoy. Visitors took the opportunity to seek product information and ask specialists at sister companies hostettler moto ag, intercycle ag and hostettler ag Motochic, as well as their suppliers, specific questions. The hostettler group’s own brand, iXS, presented a selection from its motorcycling and cycling collection. Many interested visitors took the opportunity to test ride the latest Yamaha models and the gravel bikes from hostettler’s own brand, BIXS. Particular highlight were the ride-outs with BIXS athletes Marcel Guerrini and Timon Rüegg. Visitors could also take part in test flights using DJI camera drones and seek advice from professionals.
Other activities and attractions
For younger visitors, there was a kids’ zone featuring a mini motocross park, Stacyc electric balance bikes and Yamaha PW mini dirt bike and a bicycle pump track. There was also a games zone and a bouncy truck provided by transport partner Galliker, as well as face painting. A large food court offered refreshments and a wide selection of sweet and savoury regional and international dishes.
Partners and Sponsors
In addition to the hostettler group’s exhibitors, various partner organisations and sponsors provided information about their cycling- and motorcycling-related products and services. The motorcycling associations Swiss Moto and SAM emphasised the advantages of becoming a member. Tissot, the Swiss watch brand and sponsor, acted as a grandstand sponsor, while Monster Energy handed out energy drinks and had a strong presence at the Trial Show. Fuel manufacturer Shell supported the event as a Silver Partner. In the cycling sector, MS Sports Kids Bike Camps, BikeGenoss Zentralschweiz and the Mountainbike Luzern association championed the interests and concerns of cyclists.
