hoco online gmbh and Sports Nut GmbH are both active in the bike and action sports segments. These two companies have now commissioned a new logistics centre in Berlin-Schönefeld. The newly constructed warehouse is located close to Berlin’s new “BER-Brandenburg” airport. In the future, the centre’s 5,500 square metres of rented storage space will be available for goods receiving, shipping, returns, assembly and customer service. From now on, B2C orders placed with the online trader BMO and the own brands “Platzangst” and “iXS Sports” will be shipped all over the world from this facility.
After an extremely challenging but successful COVID-19 year, hoco online gmbh and Sports Nut GmbH are continuing to power ahead in 2021: sales by hoco online rose by 86% in 2020 while Sports Nut posted a 58% increase. The new logistics centre in Berlin creates the capacity needed to support the unchecked growth of both companies.
“The new storage facilities are another major milestone for hoco online and Sports Nut,” according to Sven Mack, founder and CEO of the two companies. “Since the acquisition in 2016, we’ve been able to quadruple our sales in Berlin. In the past financial year in particular, however, we increasingly reached our logistical limits – also due to the bicycle boom. Further growth simply wouldn’t have been possible at our old premises. Thanks to the new location and our investments at the Airpark in Schönefeld, we can now continue to broaden our range – and by expanding the scope of our storage capacity, we’ll also be able to generate growth in years to come. I firmly believe that the efficiency of dispatch and parcel performance will increase and pressure on our customer service can be relieved.”
Peter Hostettler is also proud of this track record of development and success. He congratulates Sven Mack, his team and all the other companies in the hostettler group on their extraordinary achievements in 2020. “We’re going to keep up the momentum – and as far as I’m concerned, the sky’s the limit!”
